Join us for a Writing Workshop hosted by the Miami Poetry Club. Celebrate the final weekend of Poetry Month with an evening of art viewing and Ekphrastic Poetry. The Greek word for “description” Ekphrasis refers to a vivid description of a work of art. Ekphrastic poetry allows writers to create a deeper relationship with art by inspecting and transforming its meaning through language. In this 90-minute workshop, you'll learn the technique of writing ekphrastic poetry by looking deeply at the work of Nereida Garcia-Ferraz, and writing a poem inspired by her art.
Workshop attendance is based on a suggested donation of $15-25. All proceeds benefit the operations of the Miami Poetry Club, a 501C3 nonprofit dedicated to providing inclusive, accessible poetry education and events to amplify and enrich the lives of Miamians through the transformational power of writing.
